FAQs

Everything travellers ask us about ferry timings, luggage, tickets and boarding between Port Blair, Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep.

Good to know

Every question we are asked, answered

Ferry timings, luggage, boarding, cancellations and what the crossing is actually like. If your question is not here, our team is a phone call away.

Your boarding point and reporting time are printed on your ticket. Reach the jetty 45 minutes before departure for ticket verification, security and luggage checks; boarding closes 15 minutes before the ferry sails. If a schedule changes, Nautika customer care will have the latest word — check with us or your ticket provider before you set out.

Nautika sails between Port Blair, Swaraj Dweep (Havelock) and Shaheed Dweep (Neil) through the day, with the first departures early in the morning. The live timetable on our home page shows every crossing, read straight from our booking system.

Seating is arranged in classes rather than one open cabin:

  • Royal — upper-deck seating with extra legroom and bigger windows, for a more spacious, quieter crossing.
  • Luxury — main-deck seating, air-conditioned and comfortable, with wide windows for the sea view.
  • Business — private cabins and premium seats aboard Nautika Pro.

Two quick tips: timings can shift with weather and operations, so re-check your ticket or confirm with us before you travel; and in peak season book your seats ahead — sailings fill quickly.

If seats are vacant you may be upgraded once aboard, at the discretion of the management and on payment of a nominal upgrade charge.

Yes. If your plans change, our support team can reschedule your ferry ride — reach us by phone, email or WhatsApp and we will sort it out promptly.

If you have something in mind that is not on the standard list — a group day tour, a private cab, a custom itinerary — tell us what you need and we will come back quickly with the details and a secure payment link. You are not boxed into one-size-fits-all plans.

Travel times vary a little with the vessel and the weather, but as a rule:

  • Port Blair to Swaraj Dweep (Havelock): about 90 minutes.
  • Swaraj Dweep (Havelock) to Shaheed Dweep (Neil): around an hour.
  • Shaheed Dweep (Neil) to Port Blair: about 75 minutes.

These are typical figures — check the exact timing for your sailing when you book.

Our catamarans hold a steady 24 knots — quick enough that the longest hop between these islands is done in a morning, smooth enough that you can walk to the café while under way.

Capacity depends on the vessel. Nautika carries 275 passengers across Luxury and Royal classes; Nautika Pro carries 360 across Luxury, Royal and Business; and Nautika Pride will carry 400 across four classes, including VIP, once it enters service. Upper decks hold the Royal seats — extra legroom and sweeping sea views — while the main deck’s Luxury seats keep big windows for dolphin-watching.

Quick, clear answers take the worry out of booking. Write to us, message us on WhatsApp or call, and you get your booking status without the wondering — and more time for the holiday itself.

When you book an activity, a day tour or a cab transfer, we tell you exactly which details we need — name, email, phone — so the reservation moves fast, and a confirmation message or secure payment link follows immediately. If you want something that is not on the list, the same team will put together a custom option and price it for you.

Yes. You can book several trips or routes in one go — select each crossing you need, add them all to your booking, and pay once. There is no need to make a separate reservation for every leg of an island-hopping itinerary.

Our timetable and fares are not typed into this website — they are read live from the same booking system that issues your ticket, every time the page loads. What you see on the schedule is what you can actually book.

Beyond that, we track local advisories, seasonal changes and government notifications, and adjust sailings accordingly. If anything about your crossing changes, our support channels — phone, email, WhatsApp — carry the latest word, and our team answers quickly.

A clear, well-organised booking site saves you time at every step:

  • Easy navigation: ferry schedules, tickets and transit options are simple to find and compare.
  • Complete information: destination guides, the booking process and requirements such as permits are spelled out, so you are never left guessing the next step.
  • A simple booking flow: choose your sailing, fill in passenger details and pay — without the hassle.
  • Quick support: customer care by email, phone or WhatsApp, before and after you book.
  • Personalisation: custom itineraries and tours, priced on request.
  • Reliable confirmation: instant confirmations and e-tickets, so there is no paper to lose.

Booking a ferry should not feel like navigating choppy seas. These are the features that keep it simple:

  • Clear information up front: departure timings, boarding points, ticket types and luggage allowances, all visible before you pay.
  • Instant e-tickets: your ticket lands in your inbox the moment payment completes.
  • Flexible booking: several passengers and several trips in one order.
  • A step-by-step flow: dates, routes and upgrades without jargon.
  • Secure payment: cards and the UPI apps you already use — Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and more.
  • Real support: phone, email and WhatsApp for when plans change.
  • Clear cancellation and refund policies: what happens if plans change is written down, not discovered later.

Most private ferries on these crossings offer a broadly similar core — the differences are in the details. Aboard Nautika you can expect:

  • Café and snack kiosk: hot drinks, cold drinks and packaged snacks while you watch the sea go by.
  • Entertainment: onboard screens and music for the crossing.
  • Air conditioning: cool, shaded cabins on every deck, whatever the sun is doing.
  • An attentive crew: whether you are feeling seasick or just need directions to the washroom, help is never far away.
  • Clean washrooms: modern, hygienic bathrooms as standard.

The smaller touches — seat classes, private cabins, dining trays — vary from vessel to vessel; our fleet page lists exactly what each of our three catamarans carries.

Booking directly on our website is usually cheaper than going through third-party sites such as MakeMyTrip or Yatra, with no hidden charges appearing at checkout.

Direct booking also means the full choice of routes and seats — including in peak season, when aggregators run out of allocated tickets fast — and a booking flow that works even last-minute from a phone. And if you need help, our own support team resolves it promptly, rather than a middleman.

Private ferries are built around visitors: comfortable seating, air conditioning, and schedules that suit a holiday. Tickets can be booked online well in advance, so your island-hopping is settled before you fly.

Government ferries mainly serve local residents and daily commuters. They are perfectly reliable, but tourist seating is limited and tickets are sold first-come, first-served at the port — which can mean a pre-dawn queue that ends at a "no seats left" sign, and in season the seats can be gone months ahead.

If you would rather not gamble your itinerary on a ticket counter, a private ferry is the safer plan.

Nautika’s network revolves around the three stops every Andaman itinerary uses: Port Blair, Swaraj Dweep (Havelock) and Shaheed Dweep (Neil).

  • Port Blair ⇄ Swaraj Dweep (Havelock): several sailings daily in both directions, starting early in the morning — about 90 minutes at sea.
  • Swaraj Dweep ⇄ Shaheed Dweep (Neil): morning and afternoon sailings, around an hour across.
  • Shaheed Dweep ⇄ Port Blair: departures through the day, so day trips and longer stays both work.

Schedules move with weather and season, so treat the live timetable on our home page — read from the booking system itself — as the source of truth, and book ahead in peak travel periods.
